With the world of Autonomous vehicles an already rapidly progressing field, two firms, Ford Motor Company, and Baidu, top Chinese search engine company have joined together to begin testing self driving automobiles in Beijing.
Ford and Baidu to Begin Joint Project
On Wednesday, Ford Motor Company and Chinese firm Baidu, commonly known as"the Google of China" declared a two-year plan to more development of fully autonomous vehicles. The two companies plan on matching Ford's experience in vehicles, with Baidu's extensive study to the world of AI, to create automobiles that would have the ability to navigate without a driver. With each of the companies already making complex in driverless vehicle technology by themselves, it simply makes sense for the two industry titans to join forces. This new partnership comes after a prior statement that the two companies were collaborating in June, and as the sales of Ford cars in China sink radically. "This project marks a new milestone in the partnership between Ford and Baidu, and supports Ford's vision to look wise vehicles that transform the way we get round." Said Sherif Marakby, the CEO of Ford.
Level 4 Tech by the end of 2 Years
By the end of these tests, They assert that the vehicles will achieve a level 4 technologies in autonomous vehicle criteria; Level 4 being the second greatest, just topped by degree 5, which involves cars that are able to operate without any input by a driver.
